Teeth Whitening in Glendale, CA

Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dental treatment designed to reduce discoloration and enhance the natural brightness of your smile. At ProDent Care in Glendale, CA, we offer professional teeth whitening options tailored to each patient’s individual goals, oral health, and lifestyle.

What kind of teeth whitening does Dr. Hambarchian offer?

At ProDent Care, we provide patients with a choice of in-office whitening treatments or custom-made at-home whitening kits designed to provide them with professional-quality results in the comfort and convenience of their homes. Our kits feature trays that are designed specifically for each patient's mouth and teeth to ensure the best coverage for consistent results that last.

What is the in-office teeth whitening treatment like?

First, the dentist will thoroughly clean and prepare the teeth, including an examination. Any traces of decay or damage will need to be treated before the whitening begins. Once the patient’s teeth are ready, an innovative, light activated gel which is made from hydrogen peroxide is applied to the teeth. This gel reacts to a special light to whiten teeth. To ensure that each tooth is painted will the gel evenly and exposed to the light, in the same way, the patient’s lips will be held back with a soft retainer. The light is then directed at the teeth for roughly 15 minutes. When enough time has gone by, the gel is wiped away, and the lip retainer is taken out. The whole process takes approximately 45-90 minutes depending on the degree of staining. Patients will notice brighter and whiter teeth immediately.

How do your take-home teeth bleaching kits differ from the kits I can buy in a drugstore?

The kits we provide in our office are custom-made for each patient, which means the trays will be form-fitted to each person's mouth and tooth shape to ensure the whitening agent reaches all the surfaces of the teeth for results that are more consistent and more effective. Plus, our kits are designed for use under professional supervision, with special whitening agents that are more effective than those available through the over-the-counter whitening kits you can buy at the drugstore or supermarket. And finally, before any whitening treatment, we'll evaluate your teeth to look for any signs of damage that should be corrected before whitening to help reduce the likelihood of tooth sensitivity and to help ensure the best possible results.
